Areas we can help

We understand the challenges that face entrepreneurs starting a new business and we pride ourselves on our ability to provide high quality, timely and cost-effective start-up legal advice from structuring your company, to protecting your intellectual property, to appointing your first employee.

Corporate

“Structure is vital to your start-up. Getting the right building blocks in place initially can help you to avoid costly disputes down the line.”

Our Corporate team can help you kick-start your business. We can assist you in deciding how you structure it and will help in dealing with potential funders. We are able to work with you throughout the lifecycle of your business all the way to planning your exit.

We can also work with you on the day-to-day issues such as dealing with basic Companies House filings to negotiating complex commercial contracts.

Intellectual Property/Trade Marks

“Protecting your IP from others profiting from your property can help your business thrive and will help you attract investors.”

Our IP team can help you protect your brands, designs and inventions. We can also help you safely licence your IP and guide you through any negotiations and contracts you may have to navigate.

Our team also includes IT specialists who can help you with issues involving your online and social media presence, e-commerce and blockchain issues and we are experts in data protection and GDPR advice too.

Employment

When you are in the position to find employee number one for your business, we can be there to advise you on how to do that. We’ll advise you on your obligations and help with any issues such as sickness, grievances, family leave and redundancy.

We can also help you protect your rights as a business owner as your venture grows and you take on investors and partners.

Property

Whether you need to move out of your mum’s garage into your first office or you need rent a manufacturing space, we can help with advice on finance, leasing and property purchases.
