Edwin Coe’s Construction team advises clients on all types of construction disputes including adjudication, expert determination, litigation and national or international arbitration.

We recognise that often clients prefer to resolve their construction dispute without resorting to formal dispute resolution, and we are well-versed in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques including negotiation, mediation, conciliation, joint expert determination and dispute review boards.

Where disputes cannot be avoided, our construction lawyers seek to lessen the commercial impact of the dispute for our clients by providing timely legal and tactical advice where possible leveraging the client’s in-house resources.

With regard to adjudication, Edwin Coe’s Construction team has extensive experience in both commencing and defending all manner of claims, and we are able to agree a time-based fee or, in appropriate circumstances, a fixed-fee for the adjudication.

Adjudication

We advise both employers and contractors on all types of construction disputes whether adjudication, expert determination, litigation and national or international arbitration. We understand that most clients would prefer to resolve their construction dispute without resorting to formal dispute resolution and we are well versed in the use of alternative dispute resolution techniques including negotiation, mediation, conciliation, joint expert determination and dispute review boards. With regard to construction adjudication, we are able to agree a time-based fee or in appropriate circumstances, a fixed-fee for the adjudication. Often the cost of adjudication can be minimised by using the client’s in-house resources and at all times we work with our clients to minimise the cost of adjudication. We have acted for Employers, Contractors, Subcontractors and Designers on over fifty Construction Adjudications since the coming into force of the Construction Act.
