
Specialising in construction law, Brenna advises individuals and companies from a wide array of sectors on various aspects of both non-contentious and contentious construction matters. She has particular experience assisting high-net and ultra-high-net worth individuals with the development of their homes, and also advising on cladding-related matters.
Brenna is regularly instructed by employers, contractors, funders, developers and consultants in relation to the myriad of issues arising throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. She advises on and drafts all manner of construction documentation including standard and bespoke building contracts, appointments, pre-construction service agreements, guarantees, bonds, collateral warranties, development agreements, fit-out contracts and agreements for lease. Additionally, Brenna assists applicants of the Building Safety Fund, and is regularly engaged to advise on the Building Safety Act 2022 and the remediation of building safety defects.
Brenna also helps clients in relation to various types of construction disputes such as payment issues, design defects, or contractor insolvency, brought either through adjudication or litigation proceedings.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Brenna worked in the IT industry both in Canada and the United Kingdom. She obtained a distinction in both the GDL and LPC from the University of Hertfordshire, winning the Judge’s Prize for Excellent Performance in 2010 and the HRJ Law Prize for Excellent Performance in 2011. In 2012, Brenna attained a distinction in her LLM in Legal Practice, and in 2019 a merit in the MSc in Construction Law & Dispute Resolution at Kings College London.
Brenna also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Science from the University of Victoria, BC Canada with the equivalent of the UK 1st, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool with distinction.
