Construction
Edwin Coe’s Construction team delivers both contentious and non-contentious legal services to a broad range of clients across various industry sectors.
We deliver both contentious and non-contentious legal services to developers, contractors, funders and consultants, providing practical, commercially attuned support at every stage.
Working closely with colleagues in our property, corporate and tax teams, we ensure that advice is contextual, coordinated and aligned with our clients’ broader commercial objectives. The guidance we provide gives you the confidence to plan, build and resolve issues with clarity and control.
A joined-up view
Every successful project depends on coordination – between people, disciplines and objectives. Our work spans the full spectrum of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. We collaborate with our clients’ property and finance teams to ensure that each project is structured, documented and delivered effectively.
Where specialist input is needed, we draw on experts across the firm and our established industry contacts in areas such as project finance, corporate structuring, taxation, intellectual property, planning and health and safety.
Understanding the importance of building safety.
We also have particular expertise in building safety remediation, including fire and cladding matters. Our lawyers act for resident management companies (RMC) and right-to-manage companies (RTM) undertaking remediation projects funded by the Building Safety Fund or Cladding Safety Scheme, and negotiate Remediation Works Agreements (RWAs) with developers who have signed the Developer Remediation Contract (DRC) with the Government.
We advise developers, contractors and consultants on their obligations under the Building Safety Act 2022 and represent clients when safety issues progress into formal claims.
Quiet strength. Lasting results.
We recognise that, in construction, prevention is better than cure. Our team works proactively to identify risks early, resolve issues efficiently and maintain productive relationships across project teams. Where disputes arise, we aim to resolve them quickly and commercially through negotiation, mediation, conciliation, joint expert determination or dispute review boards.
If formal proceedings become necessary, we provide partner-led representation in adjudication, litigation or arbitration, ensuring that disputes are pursued efficiently and with a focus on achieving the best possible commercial outcome.
We see every project as a partnership built on trust, foresight and shared responsibility. And as a certified B Corporation, we help build with purpose – balancing progress with responsibility.
Three-dimensional advice
Drawing on our experience across construction, real estate and dispute resolution, we bring complete perspective to every project – legal, commercial and operational. We look beyond immediate challenges to anticipate risks and opportunities, ensuring that each client’s interests are protected and their projects are delivered with confidence.
