Edwin Coe is delighted to be hosting Khaitan & Co, a leading Indian Law Firm, for a joint seminar discussing the Tax and Legal Considerations for UK/India succession matters and global mobility issues for wealthy families.

The seminar will be held at our London offices on Tuesday, 10 September.

With families of Indian origin becoming increasingly international, cross-border succession is a highly topical issue. We will discuss protection of wealth held onshore in India and wealth held in other non UK jurisdictions, especially where beneficiaries of the estate are resident in the UK. Many families of Indian origin, across the world, now have family members residing in the UK, and retaining various non UK assets.

There are opportunities for pre-arrival planning to create a low tax environment for worldwide income and gains once resident in the UK, and flexibility for tax efficient movement of funds to the UK. The UK has an increasingly complex tax regime and insuring assets are protected across generations, and across borders is something Tax Partner Hetal Sanghvi and Private Client Partner David Goepel of Edwin Coe, and Private Client Partner, Bijal Ajinkya of Khaitan & Co will explore together.
