Edwin Coe is delighted to announce that it has advised AD Global Sports LLP in a joint venture with tennis star Sir Andy Murray to create a padel team, Team AD/vantage, which will be one of the six franchise teams to enter the Hexagon Cup, taking place in Madrid in February 2024. AD Global Sports is owned by Arran Yentob and Murray’s former coach Dani Vallverdú, and was set up to support the development of sport in the UK and globally.

Padel is the world’s fastest growing global sport, and whilst the UK is a newcomer to the padel market, with around 300 courts nationwide, the number is expected to grow exponentially over the next five years. It is played on an enclosed court about a third the size of a tennis court, with a foam bat and softer balls than tennis. It is designed for groups of mixed ages and abilities to play together.

Edwin Coe’s multi-disciplinary team was led by Daniel Bellau, alongside Henry Wright, with input from Nick Phillips and Karen Lee. Daniel commented “I am pleased to have worked with AD Global Sports on this complex transaction and look forward to cheering the team on when they take to the courts in February!
