Edwin Coe makes key promotions within Private Client team

Edwin Coe is delighted to announce that David Goepel and Matthew Barnett have been promoted to Head of Private Client International and Head of Private Client UK positions respectively.  Edwin Coe’s Managing Partner Alison Broadberry will remain in place as the overall Head of Private Client.

David specialises in private client international work with a particular focus on trusts and succession planning. Much of David’s time is spent in advising private clients on cross-border issues, including the co-ordination of advice in a number of different jurisdictions.

David has a pleasant attitude with great knowledge and a technical approach; he knows what he’s doing. He leads the firm’s practical approach and on the technical side he’s top-notch. If you come across a situation that is out of the ordinary, he is a go-to,” commented a client in the latest edition of Chambers HNW.

Matthew acts for predominantly UK-based high-net-worth individuals, families, executors, trustees and beneficiaries on a wide range of tax, trust, estate and succession planning issues.

Matthew is charming, warm and knowledgeable. If you want a really good expert on wills, probate, tax trusts and estate planning who can handle complex matters sensitively and compassionately, then look no further than Matthew,” said a client in Chambers HNW 2023.

Alison acts for high-net-worth individuals and families on matters relating to tax, trusts, estate and succession planning, UK and cross-border probate.

Alison’s energy and positivity is inspiring to her clients and those that work with her. Her wealth of experience at the very top level of private client is impressive and she manages an excellent team very adeptly,” noted a client in Chambers HNW 2023.

Speaking about the promotions, Alison Broadberry said, “I am thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotions of David and Matt. Their exceptional skills, dedication, and client-centric approach make them the perfect choices to lead our International and UK practices.
