Edwin Coe secures another successful Covid-19 BI judgment

Edwin Coe LLP has again been successful in the latest round of Covid-19 business interruption test cases.

The decision handed down on Friday in Gatwick Investment Limited & Others v Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE addressed a number of preliminary issues in a lengthy judgment which confirmed earlier decisions, notably Corbin & King Ltd v AXA1.

Head of Insurance Litigation, Roger Franklin, said: “This is another important stage in the clarification of the rights of policyholders to recover business interruption losses suffered as a result of Covid-19. It is now hoped that insurers will finally begin to implement the conclusions of these test cases, rather than run similar arguments when there is no real hope of them succeeding.”

Edwin Coe LLP specialises in representing policyholders against insurers. If you have a claim which you think should be pursued as a result of this decision, please contact Roger Franklin or our Covid-19 Business Interruption team and we can advise on your available options.
