Joined by barrister Michael Levenstein from Gatehouse Chambers, Edwin Coe’s Construction team will be providing a review on the impact of the sweeping reforms introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022.

On 28 April 2022 one of the most transformative pieces of legislation within the construction sector since the introduction of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act received Royal Assent. Two months thereafter, the Building Safety Act 2022 began to revolutionise the construction sector.

The seminar will discuss various of the key provisions of the Act from changes to the Limitation Act 1980 and new statutory requirements for new build properties, to the role of the Building Safety Regulator and an outline of the planning ‘gateways’ which will be applicable to higher-risk buildings.

The seminar will also highlight what construction professionals should be doing now when embarking on construction projects in light of the Act.

Speakers:

Brenna Baye | Construction Partner

Michael Levenstein | Gatehouse Chambers Barrister

Who should attend:

The seminar is suitable for construction professionals, developers, lenders,
in-house legal staff, commercial directors and other decision makers. This is a complimentary event.
