
Claire is a Partner in the Intellectual Property team. She has over 20 years’ experience in the trade mark field, advising clients in their branding and trade mark matters.
Claire qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and has worked in-house and in private practice. Her experience is international, having worked at an international sports brand in the Netherlands (1998) and in private practice in well-respected German firms between 1999 and 2007. She returned to the UK in 2008 and worked in private practice, including in the London Offices of two US law firms between 2013 and 2017. In 2018, she took the step to partnership at a boutique IP firm before moving to Edwin Coe in 2021.
She has significant experience advising companies, from start-ups to multi-nationals, on a range of matters, from their initial searches to bringing and defending trade mark proceedings before the UK and EU IPOs. Claire is often asked to provide second opinions on complex disputes, often with a multinational aspect, combining her legal knowledge with pragmatism and commercial sense for her clients in the automobile, financial, hospitality and retail sectors, among others.
She is a member of INTA and currently serves on the Unreal Campaign Committee. Claire is also an active member of MARQUES and is the Chair of the Programming Team.
