With a new Government and the ongoing evolution imposed by the Building Safety Act, this autumn is set to be busier than ever for the construction sector.

Join our Head of Construction, Brenna Baye as we welcome Celia Reynolds and Alexander Burrell from 39 Essex Chambers to speak at our Construction Law Update – Autumn 2024 seminar.

39 Essex Chambers barrister Celia Reynolds specialises in planning law and will deliver an update on the planning regime. She will be discussing in particular the enforcement measures enacted earlier this year, which increase time limits for stop notices and enforcement generally. Celia will also cover the government’s plans to boost house building through National Planning Policy Framework reforms.

With his extensive experience of acting on remediation contribution order (RCO) cases, 39 Essex Chambers barrister Alex Burrell will advise on RCO case law, including the impact of the recent Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2004 on RCOs. He will also discuss the ‘gateway’ process, specifically the impact for Principal Accountable Persons where an original developer undertaking building remediation works breaches the ‘gateway’ requirements.
