Victor Hawrych presents Best EIS Fund Manager award at EISA Awards

On Wednesday night Edwin Coe attended the EISA Chairman’s Reception and sponsored the Best EIS Fund Manager award at the EISA Awards. Corporate Partner and EIS expert, Victor Hawrych, presented the award which was won by two companies.
The judges commented “When it came to deciding the winner, the judges were absolutely evenly split between 2 companies. In the end we felt that we had no alternative but to have joint winners in this category.”
About joint winner No 1, the judges said:
“Parkwalk embody the essence of the true principles of EIS, and their work with the UK’s top universities to invest in knowledge intensive, early stage technology is quite simply transformational. They are a company that backed 36 financing rounds in 2016, deploying £40 million of EIS funds.
The second winner Calculus is a company that has a unique and exclusive deal flow, carries out detailed due diligence on all its investments, and provides a high level of support to each of its portfolio companies. They are very proactive in promoting the industry, and capped 2016 with 3 profitable exits.”
The EISA Awards recognises excellence in various categories among EIS and SEIS practitioners over the past 12 months. Firms were asked to submit their own applications giving information from the past 12 months only in relation to a set criteria. The entries were then judged by a panel of independent judges.
The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) is a Government scheme that provides a range of tax reliefs for investors who subscribe for qualifying shares in qualifying companies. The Awards Ceremony is the highlight of the Chairman’s Reception at the House of Lords.
Victor commented: “I am delighted to be presenting this award to the Best EIS Fund Manager. Edwin Coe has always supported EISA and we have a unique understanding of the market.”
