Zahira Hussain
Zahira enjoys assisting clients by finding tailored solutions, whilst trying to resolve disputes in the most cost-effective way possible. She advises a wide spectrum of clients, from consumers to high-net-worth individuals, to international corporates in complex disputes.
Zahira is passionate about her junior colleagues’ development and progression.
Zahira specialises in commercial disputes, with a focus on group claims. Her practice encompasses of a wide range of litigation, with a particular concentration on contractual disputes, as well as competition claims, professional negligence and judicial review. Zahira has a wealth of experience in advising Claimants, as well as Defendants.
Zahira has been involved in important and weighty litigation during her career, including against the UK government in the Northern Rock judicial review. Zahira represented a committee member of the Northern Rock Shareholders’ Association in front of the Upper Tribunal. Zahira advised multiple investors who lost money in the Madoff fraud, in relation to claims against their financial advisors. She represented one such investor in front of the Financial Ombudsman Service, which found against Barclays Wealth in favour of the investor, dismissing Barclays Wealth’s appeal. Zahira is currently representing a group of 140 clients in relation to a damages claim against both national and international corporations.
Zahira has experience in acting in both High Court and Competition Appeal Tribunal cases.
Zahira is recommended in The Legal 500 for civil fraud and group litigation. She is a “Next Generation Partner” for commercial litigation and was ranked in Chambers UK 2025 as “Up and Coming”.
Zahira read law at the University of Oxford, where she obtained a 2:1.
