Edwin Coe LLP manage appointment of Tony Pulis to West Bromwich Albion
Edwin Coe LLP, which has acted in many Premiership management appointments and disputes, oversaw the appointment of Tony Pulis as the new manager of West Bromwich Albion Football Club who are just above the relegation zone in the Barclays Premiership. The appointment is effective on
1 January 2015.
David Greene, senior partner at Edwin Coe LLP, said:
“We have dealt with many Clubs over the years. The normal musical chairs in managers at this time of year can make for a busy Christmas. The appointment to West Bromwich Albion represented particular problems because of the style of management at the Club. As the press have commented, the style of organisation is contrary to the normal style of a Tony Pulis management team. Tony demands to be in charge of selection and have a final say on transfers both in and out. The Club runs a more European system in which a technical director has greater control. We sought through the contractual negotiations to marry the two, sometimes opposing, traditions.”
“As ever we wish both Club and Tony success in remaining in the Premier League this season. Tony did fantastically with Crystal Palace and he should repeat his success at West Bromwich Albion.”
