Liberty Chappel is a Legal Director in the Property Disputes team with over 12 years' post-qualification experience, specialising in residential property disputes.

She advises landlords and tenants on a broad range of contentious matters across complex residential portfolios, including breaches of covenant, disrepair claims, rent recovery, possession proceedings, forfeiture, service charge disputes and wider estate management issues.

Her practice also encompasses trusts of land disputes, nuisance claims, adverse possession claims, boundary disputes and matters arising under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. In addition, Liberty advises on professional negligence claims involving property professionals, including solicitors and surveyors.

Liberty acts for high-net-worth individuals, resident-owned freehold companies and other private clients. She also has considerable experience advising on matters involving Central London residential estates, having worked closely with a number of prominent landed estates throughout her career.

Supporting resident-owned freehold companies – advising on governance and management issues and resolving disputes involving leaseholders, managing agents and neighbouring occupiers, including proceedings before the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
