Valerie Sweeting

Valerie is an experienced commercial litigator with a specialist focus on claims against financial institutions and businesses in the leisure sector. She has particular expertise in matters arising from breaches of consumer credit law, regularly advising clients on complex disputes involving unfair lending practices, mis-selling, and regulatory non-compliance. Valerie’s strategic approach and deep understanding of consumer protection legislation make her a trusted advisor in high-stakes litigation.

Valerie holds a BA in Economics from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Westminster in London.

Before joining the firm, Valerie gained experience in the banking sector in the Bahamas and contributed to human rights advocacy through her volunteer work with Amnesty International’s Africa Advocacy Unit in Washington, D.C.
