UK Ancestry Visas
The UK Ancestry visa route is available to individuals who are citizens of a Commonwealth country and can demonstrate that they have a grandparent born in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.
Successful applicants are granted permission to live in the UK for a period of 5 years, during which they may work, study, and be accompanied by their dependants.
Following 5 years of continuous residence in the UK under this route, individuals may be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. ILR provides freedom from immigration restrictions and allows individuals to reside in the UK on a permanent basis as a “settled” person.
Applicants should be aware that the UK Ancestry visa is subject to specific eligibility, validity, financial, and suitability requirements, all of which must be met for the application to be successful.
