Since use of the correct procurement strategy is fundamental to the success of a construction project, our Construction Team works closely with our clients to ascertain the most suitable procurement strategy to maximise value for our clients while minimising risks through the project lifecycle.

We believe that clear contract documentation facilitates collaboration between and within a project team. Furthermore, we are passionate about encouraging parties to have detailed discussions regarding risk allocation prior to entering contracts or appointments in order to minimise disputes once works have commenced. Cognisant of the need to foster strong relationships given the long-term nature of a construction project, through tailored drafting we enable our clients to minimise risk while maintaining positive relations with contractors and the wider professional team.

What we do best:

Procurement
Supporting clients in determining the most appropriate procurement route, particularly in relation to the development and remediation of higher-risk buildings (“HRBs”) in light of the building control ‘Gateways’.
Drafting and Negotiation
Advising on, drafting and negotiating bespoke and industry standard forms of construction documents such as pre-construction services agreements, development management agreements, building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and bonds, including incorporating appropriate amendments to industry standard forms where necessary to address project-specific needs.
Cross-Discipline Approach
Working in conjunction with colleagues across Edwin Coe including property, corporate, tax and intellectual property to provide clients a full service approach to property development.
