Class Actions

Strength in unity. Justice at scale.
When misconduct or negligence causes harm to a group of people, a collective claim – often known as a class action or group claim – can help secure compensation and redress.

For decades, we have stood alongside those seeking redress. Edwin Coe is a pioneer in this sphere, having represented claimants in many of the most significant collective actions of the past 35 years, including those arising from the Lockerbie bombing, the Factortame fishing dispute and the Hillsborough stadium disaster.

We act for shareholders, businesses, professional bodies, and private individuals, coordinating complex claims with precision and care. Our role is to make large-scale litigation accessible, efficient and cost-effective, ensuring that collective action delivers meaningful outcomes for every participant. The guidance we provide gives clients confidence, clarity and control throughout the process.

A joined-up view

Group claims raise distinctive procedural, practical and financial challenges. We advise on every stage of pursuing a class action – from group formation and case preparation to settlement and enforcement – and provide clear, practical guidance at each step.

Access to justice should not depend on personal means – which is why we also help clients navigate funding and cost management options, working closely with leading litigation funders and after-the-event insurers. These arrangements often allow claims to proceed on a no win, no fee basis, minimising risk and maximising opportunity to obtain redress.

Where appropriate, we also assist with media and communications strategies, helping generate publicity to strengthen awareness and engagement with the claim.

Fortitude. Lasting results.

We understand that large-scale disputes can be complex, demanding and high-profile. Our approach is measured, strategic and transparent, ensuring that every claimant is supported at every stage of the process.

Our team combines deep experience in multi-claimant litigation with proven expertise in financial, regulatory and commercial disputes. We also coordinate with specialist counsel, funders and international partners to ensure every claim benefits from comprehensive representation.

Three-dimensional advice

Drawing on decades of experience and a trusted network of international partners, we bring together litigation expertise, strategic funding insight and careful coordination to achieve results that endure.

We look beyond the immediate dispute to anticipate future risks and opportunities – ensuring that every class action we lead is defined by clarity, accountability and purpose.

Collaborative in approach. Committed in purpose. Connected where it matters most.
