Representation at UK Visas and Immigration compliance visits

UKVI may conduct announced or unannounced visits to a sponsor’s business premises to assess ongoing compliance with sponsorship duties.

For many organisations, especially those unfamiliar with the process, these inspections can be challenging and disruptive.

During a visit, Compliance Officers will examine whether HR and recruitment systems meet UKVI standards, confirm that the organisation is genuine and lawfully operating in the UK, and assess whether the organisation poses any risk to immigration control. Officers will also verify that sponsored roles are genuine and being performed as stated on the workers’ Certificates of Sponsorship (CoS).

It is common for Officers to speak directly with the Authorising Officer and Key Contact listed on the Sponsor Licence as well as with sponsored workers. Keeping licence details accurate and preparing your team for engagement is essential.
