Deepa is a transactional commercial real estate lawyer. She specialises in both real estate investment and development, acting for domestic and overseas developers, property companies, institutional investors/funds, and financiers.

Deepa has significant expertise in complex real estate transactions including structured investments and disposals, joint ventures and all aspects of corporate real estate and real estate finance transactions both single asset and portfolios.

She has notable experience leading multidisciplinary teams on both real estate and corporate transactions and has developed a particular expertise in the residential sector (student accommodation, co-living, build-to-rent and senior living schemes). Deepa also acts for national and international developers on residential-led mixed-use schemes including scheme structuring and risk analysis.

Deepa has been ranked in top legal directory Chambers & Partners for the last eight consecutive years (currently Band 2 for Real Estate: £50 -£150m) and is ranked as a Leading Individual in the Legal 500 for Commercial Property Development. Tishman Speyer on its corporate acquisition of Sanctuary Buildings (offices in London’s Westminster) from Irish property company Vico Capital for the sum of £175,000,000 with debt from Barclays.
Hinduja Group and OHLD being a joint venture which successfully acquired The Old War Office building with a view to mixed use hotel and residential redevelopment. Led the successful bid process and contracts were signed within 10 working days as required by the seller, the Ministry of Defence.
Blackstone Group (US private equity firm) on its acquisition of a 50% stake in a joint venture with British Land of the Broadgate Estate, London comprising 16 buildings and 232 lettings.
South Korean Pension Fund acting through Rockspring Property Investment Managers on its acquisition of the units in a Guernsey property unit trust which owns 88 Wood Street, London from ING Real Estate.
Palmer Capital Partners as part of a joint venture with Deutsche Property Asset Management Ltd on the acquisition of 105 forecourt development sites from Texaco Ltd, and the leasing of the developed sites to UK supermarket operator Somerfield plc.
