Anna is a Senior Associate in the private client team at Edwin Coe and provides a full range of private client services.

This includes advising clients on lifetime succession planning options, advising executors on the administration of estates and assisting trustees with the management of trusts.

Alongside her private client work, Anna plays an active role in Edwin Coe’s wider policies and was involved in the campaign which led to Edwin Coe achieving B Corp status.

Anna joined the firm in 2019.

Anna advises a wide variety of individuals and families including business owners, executors and trustees on matters such as:

Inheritance Tax Planning and Wealth Preservation:

Anna has a breadth of experience in advising individuals and families on how best to hold and protect their assets (including business assets and properties) with a view to minimising inheritance tax and preserving wealth for future generations. Anna takes a practical approach, advising her clients not only on the legal and tax implications of holding assets in different ways (for example in trust) but also on the practical implications of such structures. Anna takes a very personalised approach, understanding that everyone’s objectives are different and that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution.

Probate and Estate Administration:

Anna takes a particular interest in the administration of complex and high value estates, including estates with cross-jurisdictional issues and a diverse asset range. As part of the estate administration process, Anna advises executors on their duties and obligations and helps to guide them through the difficulties that are often faced when administering estates that are far from straightforward. Anna appreciates that the role of being an executor can be challenging and seeks to ease the process by assisting as much or as little as the executors require. The vast majority of estates that Anna advises on also involve the establishment of trusts and Anna advises executors and trustees on the setting up of, and transfer of assets to, trusts and the ongoing trust management.

Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney:

A key part of Anna’s private client practice focuses on advising clients on Wills that are suited to both theirs, and their family’s, circumstances. Anna’s approach is that a well-drafted Will is the foundation for all good private client planning and Anna works with clients to ensure that their wishes in relation to their estates will be met, in a flexible and pragmatic manner, after their deaths. Anna also works with clients to put in place Lasting Powers of Attorney, in relation to both financial affairs and health and care decisions, to give clients peace of mind that their chosen attorneys will be able to manage their affairs, and make important decisions on their behalf, in the event that they are unable to make such decisions themselves.
