Vincent is an Associate in the Intellectual Property team at Edwin Coe, advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious IP matters. He is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and is also dual-qualified in China.

Vincent has specialised in intellectual property since 2015. He advises clients ranging from start-ups and owner-managed businesses to multinational companies across sectors including technology, telecommunications, fashion, retail, cosmetics, motorsport, automotive, media and education. He has experience supporting matters with international elements and coordinating strategy across multiple jurisdictions.

 

Vincent advises clients on:

 

  • Brand Protection: Clearance, filing strategy, prosecution and enforcement of trade marks, including disputes and passing off issues.
  • IP Audits & Risk Assessment: Reviewing IP portfolios and advising on risk and strategy in connection with brand launches, market entry and the importation of branded products.
  • Registry Proceedings: Oppositions, invalidations and revocations before the UKIPO and EUIPO, together with coordinating multi-jurisdictional registry strategy with overseas counsel where needed.
  • Disputes & Enforcement: Trade mark, copyright, design right and patent disputes and litigation, including pre-action strategy and proceedings in the IPEC and High Court.
  • Commercial Transactions: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, IP licensing and assignment arrangements.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Vincent trained and practised at specialist IP practices in London and China, and has contributed to public discussion of IP law through media commentary. Earlier in his career, Vincent represented clients in IP proceedings before courts in China at all levels.

 

Vincent is fluent in English and Mandarin, and is valued for clear, practical advice aligned with clients’ commercial objectives.

Advised a premium UK streetwear brand on global brand protection strategy and UK trade mark disputes involving a French luxury fashion business.
Acted for a market-leading UK based import distributor in the trade mark infringement and passing off disputes concerning the importation and distribution of branded consumer products from China, against a multinational group company.
D.W. Windsor v Urbis Schreder [2025] EWHC 563 (IPEC) – worked on a patent dispute before the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court (IPEC) for a leading British lighting manufacturer.
Advised a motorsport regulatory and services provider on a trade mark infringement, passing off and misleading advertising dispute, achieving a commercially favourable outcome.
Advised a life sciences testing business on a copyright dispute relating to specialist scientific testing reports, protecting proprietary content and commercial positioning.
