Simeon Gilchrist
As part of the Restructuring & Insolvency team, Simeon manages complex issues for a wide variety of clients with the benefit of support from team members and specialist sector led teams across Edwin Coe.
Together with his team Simeon advises individuals, companies, insolvency practitioners and lenders in both transactional and contentious restructuring and insolvency matters. This means that Simeon applies his understanding of the legal framework to both personal insolvency, principally in large value bankruptcy or individual voluntary arrangements matters, and to corporate restructuring matters, with a heavy focus on administration procedures in which he can advise lenders, directors, the board, the company or the administrator, and whether that is about rescuing value for the lender or creditors through the administration process, or investigating directors and transactions that lead to recoveries for the benefit of creditors.
With a background in French, and responsibility for the UK’s seat at INSOL Europe, Simeon has long advised on cross-border challenges, latterly helping to navigate the challenges presented by the United Kingdom’s departure from Europe. Simeon is a member of and speaks at INSOL Europe annual conferences.
Simeon relishes the challenges presented by this field of law: no two instructions are the same, but every client receives the same care.
Simeon believes in working with all of his team members and the client to produce the best possible outcome for the client.
