Sam Harris
Sam is a Senior Associate in the Commercial Disputes & Class Actions team. He specialises in group litigation and complex, high-value disputes.
Sam advises individuals and businesses on:
- Class actions: Representing clients (both claimants and defendants) in group actions on issues ranging from misuse of private information to misrepresentation/mis-selling and fraud.
- Contract disputes: Advising on complex, high-value disputes, often with a cross-border element or allegations of fraud. Sam has acted for a wide range of clients including individuals, media organisations, financial institutions, businesses, charities and NGOs.
- Corporate governance: Advising on shareholder disputes, directors’ duties and breaches of fiduciary obligations.
- Crypto and digital assets: Acting for individuals, cryptocurrency exchanges and blockchain software companies on corporate governance issues, as well as conducting internal investigations into allegations of wrongdoing.
- Financial Services Disputes: Representing individuals, businesses and banks in the High Court in disputes relating to securities, derivatives and structured products.
Sam is experienced at both bringing and defending litigation. He began his career at a Magic Circle law firm where he built a practice representing defendants in high-stakes disputes, often with a cross-border element. Since joining Edwin Coe in 2025, Sam has focused on claimant-side work so now brings a dual-perspective to his cases.
Sam received a first-class LLB from Cardiff University in 2014 and completed the LPC (with distinction) at BPP in London in 2015. He qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and obtained his Higher Rights of Audience in 2023.
