Nik is a Consultant in the Construction Team and specialises in construction law and dispute resolution. He handles both contentious and non-contentious construction work.

Nik has a wealth of experience in providing strategic advice to clients involved in construction disputes. He is regularly instructed to act in adjudications for both the paying party and the payee to a construction contract and has been involved in a number of reported decisions in the adjudication arena. Nik also advises on the construction aspects of property development work and is regularly instructed on high-value and complex construction projects.

 

Nik joined Edwin Coe as a Partner and the Head of Construction in 2018 and became a Consultant in 2020.

Downs Road Development LLP v Laxmanbhai Construction (UK) Ltd [2021] EWHC 2441 (TCC); Acting for a contractor in defence of adjudication enforcement proceedings in relation to a payment dispute. Successfully arguing the adjudicator had breached natural justice by failing to address a material issue
Stellite Construction Ltd v Vascroft Contractors Ltd [2016] EWHC 792 (TCC); Acting for a contractor in connection with an adjudication and subsequent enforcement proceedings concerning delays and the application of liquidated damages. Successfully resisted submissions that the adjudicator had breached natural justice
