Jamal Saleh
Jamal advises on a wide variety of cross-border corporate and commercial transactions under the laws of England and Wales and the British Virgin Islands, including private mergers and acquisitions, scale-up investments and fundraises, joint ventures, partnership and LLP matters and restructurings, in addition to advising on asset sales out of administration alongside our Restructuring and Insolvency team.
He has deep legal knowledge on a wide range of corporate law aspects, with significant sector expertise on founder exits, sport, automotive, technology, digital assets and hotels and hospitality. He works closely with clients and intermediaries alike to ensure outstanding standards of work and commercially focused advice, enhancing those relationships to ensure growth and long-term client satisfaction.
Jamal has also advised on debt financing transactions. He joined the firm in September 2022.
Jamal’s practice encompasses all aspects of corporate law for private companies and individual stakeholders, with particular focuses on:
Family offices: Establishing onshore and offshore family office and family investment company structures, together with subsequent acquisitions, investments and disposals, alongside collaboration with our Tax and Private Client teams for corresponding tax structuring and trust aspects.
Founders, entrepreneurs and scale-up businesses: Advising on equity and debt fundraises (whether using BVCA model documents or otherwise), investment readiness, corporate governance, shareholder relations and corporate exits via sales of listings.
International Businesses: Managing cross-border transactions with extensive international expertise and premium delivery.
Corporate clients: Leading on mergers, acquisitions and restructuring to support strategic expansion and/or reorganisation.
Investment funds: Structuring investments and investment vehicles and exits with a focus on commercial viability and regulatory compliance, alongside collaboration with our Financial Regulation team.
Solvent and insolvent reorganisations and restructurings: Co-ordinating multinational reorganisations, whether driven by tax or commercial rationale, together with all transactional aspects of corporate insolvency transactions, alongside collaboration with our Restructuring and Insolvency team.
LLPs and partnerships: Assisting clients in establishing and/or reorganising arrangements between partners of partnerships and LLPs in numerous contexts, including professional services, investment funds and farming partnerships.
