Working with Indian legal counsel and a Singapore family office for restructuring a settlor interested Swiss trust which is impacted by UK IHT reforms. Review of historic relevant income and stockpiled gains with a view to utilising the Temporary Repatriation Facility, distributing to the settlor/beneficiary, considering exit charges/10 year anniversary charges, and tax efficient investment restructuring within the trust.
Working with Jersey trustees and KC on EPT re-structuring in view of the IHT reforms, for the benefit of Kenyan resident beneficiaries, and philanthropic endeavours for a non-settlor interested Jersey trust.
Advising on a proposed Indian trust for the benefit of UK resident beneficiaries by creating an interest in possession in order to access foreign tax credits,
Advising on the creation of an offshore family investment company prior to 6th April 2025, which is tax resident in the UK.
Exit planning for those who wish to become non-UK tax resident and benefit from the IHT transitional relief for long term residents, considering split year treatment, and UK tax exposure following exit.
Managing regularising the failure to declare income and gains arising in an offshore jurisdiction, subject to tax in investment country, using the WDF.
