Elina is an Associate within the Construction Team and specialises in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters.

Elina joined Edwin Coe in September 2025, having gained extensive prior expertise in construction law with a recognised national law firm.

 

She is passionate about helping clients resolve construction-related issues and achieve the desired outcome in a timely and efficient manner, by using a hands-on approach. By applying her technical skill and experience, Elina helps clients navigate challenges with confidence and clarity and ensures projects are built on strong legal foundations.

 

Elina is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. She is also fluent in Latvian and Russian.

 

Prior to qualifying as a Fellow Chartered Legal Executive in 2020, Elina gained over seven years’ experience with a national law firm in the areas of Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery, as well as the specialist areas of Clinical Negligence, Court of Protection and Special Educational Needs.

 

With over three years’ experience in Dispute Resolution, Elina has acted for individuals and companies on a wide range of commercial litigation matters, such as contractual, property, building and other disputes, which has helped strengthen her foundation as a Construction lawyer.

 

Elina advises a broad range of clients — including contractors, developers, funders and employers.

 

In her Construction practice, Elina advises clients on the following:

 

  • Alternative Dispute Resolution: Advising on and assisting clients with alternative methods to resolve disputes, such as Adjudication, Mediation, Negotiation and Neutral Evaluation.
  • Building Safety Act 2022: Advising on Remediation Orders, Remediation Contribution Orders, and Building Liability Orders, as well as leaseholder protections from the unsafe cladding remediation costs.
  • Building safety defects: Advising on building and fire safety defects, and cladding-related matters.
  • JCT and NEC, and bespoke contracts and associated ancillary documents: Advising on, drafting and negotiating standard form and bespoke contracts, as well as managing professional appointments and collateral warranties.
  • Remediation Works Agreement (RWA): Advising on, drafting and negotiating the remedial works agreements with developers and other relevant parties.
