Christopher Pollard
Although an employed barrister (specialising in contentious IP matters), Christopher has extensive expertise in advising and negotiating on non-contentious matters, involving technology, aerospace, pharma and life science clients. His expertise extends to data protection issues regarding GDPR compliance and matters regarding standard-essential patents or FRAND licences.
Prior to joining Edwin Coe in September 2025, he worked in a magic circle firm and later qualified as both a solicitor advocate and barrister, before becoming a Partner and Head of IP at a regional law firm.

Commercial contract drafting and negotiation: Negotiation and drafting of IP-related commercial contracts such as licensing, assignment, distribution and manufacture.
Data Protection: Advising on process for responding to Data Subject Access requests or data breaches, working with Data Protection Officers to assess controller/processor relationships and data flows, drafting data processing or controller/controller agreements.
Breach of contract disputes: Preparation and litigation of claims such as software development failures, enforcement of late payment terms, re-delivery of defective goods, non-compliance with contractual terms.
Intellectual Property disputes: disputes involving patents, trade marks, or copyright issues as claimant or defendant.
Breach of confidentiality: Seeking injunctive relief and issuing a claim against former employees.
