Judith is a partner in the Private Client Team. She acts for individuals on the full range of lifetime estate and succession planning including the preparation of wills, advice on lifetime giving and inheritance tax protection, and on the use of lasting powers of attorney.

She assists families in establishing and administering trusts, and in planning for the transmission of wealth across generations, balancing continuity with flexibility as family circumstances evolve and tax treatment changes. This may involve the variation of what are often long-standing trusts, or deciding to bring them to an end entirely and consider different structuring options.  Trusts with business assets are a feature of her practice.

Judith regularly advises executors and trustees on the exercise of their powers and the decision-making process, helping to steer them through complex and sensitive matters with a clear framework.

Her clients often have an international dimension to their lives, having come from outside the UK, holding assets in different jurisdictions or with family members who live abroad and she works closely with foreign advisers to ensure the planning works coherently across borders, taking account of differing tax, succession and regulatory regimes.

Judith is known for combining technical rigour with a practical, client-centred approach. She is valued for her ability to translate legalese and for her commitment to supporting her clients through some of their most significant decisions.

She is a regular contributor to the national press and to legal and tax journals.

Judith joined Edwin Coe in August 2026.
