Edwin Coe is pleased to announce that Michael Whitton, Insurance Litigation Partner will be hosting an afternoon session on ‘The Insurance Act 2015 – A Case Study’ held on Thursday 26 April 2018.

Michael will be talking through a real-life example of the Insurance Act 2015 being applied to the circumstances surrounding an insurance claim of one of his clients. The talk will give actual illustrations of the duty of fair presentation, remedies for qualifying breaches and the effects of non-compliance with non-causative breaches of policy warranties.

Michael Whitton

Michael joined Edwin Coe in 1987 and became a partner in 1990. He read law at Cambridge University and qualified as a solicitor in 1986 with a City firm.

Michael deals principally with claimant insurance litigation and specialises in liability and coverage disputes arising from fires, floods, thefts and other perils. His practice also includes areas such as professional negligence, directors’ and officers’ liability and under-insurance issues and he has a particular expertise in business interruption claims.
