As many will have heard, Rishi Sunak has announced the anticipated extension to the furlough scheme which will now continue until the end of October. The speculation was that the Government grant would be reduced to 60% of wages but this has been maintained at the current 80% subject to the on-going cap of £2,500.

Helpfully, as from August, the furlough scheme will be modified to permit part time working of furloughed staff which will allow some phased return to work.

The team will continue to monitor and report on the situation as it develops.
