It has today been revealed that billionaire Chelsea FC owner, Roman Abramovich has been granted Israeli citizenship. There is speculation that this is due to delays in processing the extension to his UK visa. Whilst the Press has sought to suggest that the delay may be due to strained relations between Russia and the UK following the poisoning of Russian double agent Sergei Skripal earlier this year this seems unlikely.

What the article published today in The Telegraph does highlight is the fact that the requirements for visa applications and extensions are rigorous. In many cases a miss is as good as a mile when it comes to submitting the correct paperwork. Get it wrong and an application can be subject to delay or, worse, refused altogether. Our immigration team can help you avoid the pitfalls and advise on premium and super premium routes to ensure applications are dealt with as swiftly as possible.
