Nick qualified as a solicitor in 1978. He acts for family and owner managed businesses and the people who run them, as well as acting for a wide range of individuals, unincorporated businesses and charities. Clients are involved in such diverse areas as genealogy, nuclear insurance, property investment, accountancy, chartered surveying, property development and construction, transport, publishing, public relations and retailing.

In addition, Nick is the partner responsible for the Intestacy team within the Private Client department. This team deals with intestate estates that would otherwise pass to the Crown. Specialised computer programmes have been developed to deal with these frequently complex cases. The Intestacy Team is believed to deal with a higher number of claimed estates than any other firm in the UK.
