Ali practises in commercial litigation and insolvency. He has worked on cases involving asset tracing abroad, pursuing and defending claims of misfeasance by directors, conducting and defending examinations, advising on asset avoidance schemes, pursuing directors personally for corporate deceit, and defending directors in disqualification proceedings. Ali also has experience of pursuing civil fraud claims.

Ali is a member of the Executive Committee of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry Asian Business Association and has been appointed a member of the Disciplinary & Regulatory Committees of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He is also a non-elected member of the Law Society Council. He regularly lectures to groups of Insolvency Practitioners and Chartered Accountants on topical issues.
